This is how to get your money back quickly and easily
Each public health insurance company in Germany has a significant budget earmarked for prevention, and is required by law to reimburse prevention health courses, which have been vertified by the Central Prevention Center (zentrale Prüfstelle Prävention). Thus, the health insurances have an incentive to make reimbursement easy.
And this is how it works in three steps:
- Book our course here.
- Once you’ve completed the course, you will automatically receive a certificate of participation via email from us (due to regulatory reasons this “Teilnahmebescheinigung” has to be in German). On this certificate, you only need to add your banking details and forward it to your health insurance provider (via mail or upload to their respective member portals).
- Within a few days, your health insurance provider will transfer your reimbursement to your bank account. Most health insurances will reimburse at least 80% of the course fees (until a certain spend limit).
Note: You do not need a prescription and as long as you haven’t submitted a prevention measure for remibursement to your provider this year, your health insurance is required by law, to reimburse the costs!
The following table lists the amount of reimbursement per health insurance company and provides the link for processing reimbursement on the respective homepages.
If your health insurance provider is not in this list, it might still reimburse the costs – to keep this table lean, we’ve decided to only list the providers with the most customers.
